Evergreen Bungalow Renovation

 Hello!

A blog has been a long term project of mine to share what I get up to creatively. I have had sylvanians since I was young and packed them away for my own children one day. However, I felt as an adult I had no hobbies. I really wanted to do something creative however I found art itself too constraining on my mind. I wanted something familiar to do so I decided to create a blog. Well I tell a lie, I already had a blog which I have attached:

https://evergreenhollow.wordpress.com/

I decided to start a new one because:

1. I was logged out of this and my account was deleted for inactivity so that put paid to continuing that blog.

2. This blog desired a different feel. I am renovating each of my doll houses over time. I want them to look more homelike. I am starting from scratch with them. Obviously, check out my old blog as I did make some cute content on there. It's just not want I want anymore.

Now the introductions are over I am going to share my first post. I have been redecorating a non SF house which is a very cute bungalow I was gifted. If you do check out my blog you will see that the first attempt was not good. In my defence I was young and just wanted my little Furbanks family to move in there. Now it has had a revamp and looks all the better for it.

I did not take images as I was on the fence about starting a blog. I did take an image of the floor to send to my partner to view. I have to give credit to him for giving me the confidence to do what I love, I would have likely not done this without his shove in the right direction. To do the floor I used an ice lolly stick for size and drew pencil lines. I then stained the floor with brown water colours. It is not this vivid now as it dried lighter. I painted the room a nice refreshing white colour.
Here's the entire layout. I have a few odds and ends to add to it, I feel projects like this never truly finish. However, I have moved onto the next house until I have the motivation to add my last few touches. The house is pretty large as I managed to make it fully functional, I feel like in most SF houses there is not enough room for bathrooms. I chose to make the living room quite small, it's a more intimate and cosy area.
This is their little porch area. I really like the planting area. We won't mention the watering can on the floor as I did not realise.
The little kitchen is very cute. I like the cooking area and the fact it is actually practical. I love the baby chairs also, they are very tiny and cute.
The living room was the first area I finished I believe. I am a huge fan of the wallpaper, anything with small flowers I will use. My theme for my houses is just what I like and that means the results are extremely satisfying.
The children's room is still a little work in progress for me. I need to make some bedding for the crib however just not really sure how I will do that. I do like the older children's area.
There was also room for a decent size parent bedroom. I'm so glad they get this nice space which I kept quite mature.
I also added this little bathroom. I was undecided whether to leave out the bathroom however I thought the bathroom was a once in a life time chance in an SF house. I also wanted to include the original 1980's sink.

I hope you enjoyed this little viewing of my renovation. Like I said I want to keep updating the house and adding new things however for now I'm satisfied. I will definitely upload the home being used by the Furbanks family living there.

Best wishes,
Helly
