Hello readers!
I hope this post is finding you well rested after the Christmas holidays. Lots of things are happening in Evergreen Hollow. The real question is me photographing it all. I like to use my camera and get high quality photos. This takes time so I’m hoping over the coming days I can get all the images that I need.
For now, I have a post about an afternoon at Fieldview Mill. You might remember this post about my pink windmill and I wanted to share some images that I took at the time but did not post.
The family that lives there is the Fieldings. Darcy Fielding owns and runs Evergreen Farm. That job comes with a lot of pressure, the pressure of feeding an entire village! The village has grown to 184 members now so he really does have a lot of work to be done. Luckily, just like his son Daniel, he has been living and breathing the farming life since he was born. The Fieldings have lived in this mill for generations, preparing flour, caring for crops and feeding the entire village with their fresh produce. Darcy loves his life and loves that his son wants to take over from him one day.
For now though, he welcomes you inside their mill. Evergreen Hollow gets quite cold this time of year so he offers you the chance to see what’s happening in the mill on a crisp afternoon.
It seems like Bridget is preparing something in their farmhouse kitchen. This room is constantly filled with the warmth of an oven and the smell of baked goods. Evergreen farm is a few miles from the main village, so Bridget often makes all their food at home. Freshly baked muffins are cooling near the sink, perhaps she is preparing the icing for them.
Upstairs, Darcy is doing crowd control in the children’s room. Annabelle is somehow sleeping through her brother and sister’s loud playing.
Now that little Fred can crawl, he likes to take the more precarious route around the room, including head first down the slide, ‘Perhaps you should go down on your bottom?’asks Darcy. Although Fred has his dummy in, he locks eyes with his father and shakes his head. ‘Okay then… I guess I will have to hold you.’ Darcy carefully guides his son down the slide, only for his to repeat the entire process again.
And still, Annabelle sleeps.
Helen is enjoying a bath. She spends a lot of time pampering herself. She especially loves her robe when it is colder weather.
When Daniel isn’t out working with his Dad, he likes to be up in the family observatory. A while back, his parents converted it into the lounge. It was not easy transporting two armchairs up so many flights of ladders! Daniel enjoys the view though.
Bridget then makes their bed with some fresh sheets, she knows her husband likes fresh bedding after a long days work. She suspects he will be tired after caring for his children this afternoon.
Her home is as neat as a pin, well as neat as it can be with children who live on a farm.
After her bath, Helen is looking after her siblings. She likes to keep her room very tidy so she sings a tidy up song to them. Beth enjoys the song and puts away her blocks without a fuss.
And of course, Annabelle sleeps soundly.
For a brief moment, Darcy enjoys the company of his wife on the balcony. It’s very cold outside but the winter sun has snuck through the clouds. They are taking this moment to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Darcy discusses his plans for the week, when he will be working. He always wants to know when he will have some quality time with his next. He loves moments like this with her. And of course, Annabelle sleeps soundly.
I hope you have enjoyed this post. I will be back with another update soon of a few new things!

Lots of photos to be taken, lots of update you with!
