Dear Readers,
I hope this entry finds you well. I have some spare time at the moment so I wanted to update my blog a little more. I recently ordered some families from Kobee Japan (https://store.kobeejapan.net/en-gb?srsltid=AfmBOopkhmbX9Rf_kfykEZiibb1fuYmzdQqIX1CBzUEiDMLksRFSUxxp)
I cannot complement this place enough. They are a small business and do flat rate shipping. You can get hold of some really good things on there, brand new and second hand. I won't tell you about the other families I got just yet. Just bear in mind that they are special ones that are no longer available in the UK.
This post is for my newest addition, the Fairings family. Their official names are the Biscuit bears but I thought 'biscuit' wasn't all that realistic. I wanted to name them after a fancy biscuit that would pass for an actual surname so I chose a Cornish Fairing. The name suits their ambience and is also a biscuit so I feel I did a good job choosing that.
They are so adorable and I really love their mold. They look like old fashioned teddy bears and have this extra fluffy flocking. They were released for the 40th anniversary this year and are currently only available in Japan. The baby figure has made its way into other sets which is available in other countries so I feel they will see a world wide release. I just got them as I wanted to order from Kobee Japan and I am very glad that I did. For me they are special as they symbolise the 40th anniversary and are such a unique piece. Not to mention the stunning accessories they come with. The picnic basket shown below, the tiny flask and the blanket are all very detailed pieces. I am more than happy to pay their price if they include such nice pieces that create that level of detail in a scene!
The father I have given his official name, which is Lloyd. I thought his name was rather grand which suited his clothing. He will also be an architect like the lore stated. I wasn't sure what job he was suited for given his lovely clothes. So, he will sit on the council alongside Larry Beaman and Peter Timbertop who form the Evergreen Council. He will be in charge of housing and ensuring the overall look of the village. I named the mother Francesca. She needed a fancy name to suit her outfit and I like the idea of her designing gardens like her official bio states. So she will help her husband, time permitting, design areas of Evergreen Hollow. Her deep understanding of plants helps her decide how to make the village look bright and welcoming. Next is older bother Rupert. I wanted to give the children classic bear names so Rupert was apt. He is 13 and enjoys reading and sports. He enjoys technical drawings as he thinks the work his dad does is very cool. He's a good older brother and takes care of his younger brother a lot. They like playing with toy cars together. His little fact is so so adorable. Next is the only daughter of the family, Winifred. She much prefers Winnie though. She is a bit of a handful given her immaculate dress sense and often takes quite a while to get ready. She enjoys drawing dresses and is taking seamstress lessons with Nancy Waters. She hopes to go to university to study one day. Next is the family's pride and joy, Edward (of course one member had to be called Teddy!). Teddy is a rascal and loves nothing more than running around the house, running outside through their beautiful garden and back inside. Essentially, he loves a game of chase. There are a few sure ways to calm him down. The first being a picnic outside and second are his toy cars. But you can't stay annoyed at him, despite how tired you are! He's too cute.
