A busy time at the haberdashery

 Dear readers, 

It's been a while since I've updated you and to be honest there hasn't been too much activity going on behind the scenes. Aside from finishing a shorter project, I've been waiting until the summer to get stuck into something new. I purchased a larger building which I'm hoping to complete over the summer holidays. 

In the meantime, Evergreen Hollow has had a lovely present sent to all of the villagers. Rather kindly, they have been gifted a large amount of new clothes. 

So here is a little update from the haberdashery... 

Since its opening, the haberdashery had been a hub of activity. There had been an influx of orders in the beginning, mostly villagers explaining the relief that they didn't have to mend all of their children's trousers that had multiple holes in them from skidding on the grass at school. Things had calmed down now for the most part. It had become manageable for the first time, which was a relief to Paul and Phoebe. 

Mornings started mostly the same way. Orders that were to be collected were packaged before starting their new projects, answering phone inquiries and attending customers. At around 9:18am Paul (Paul Brightfield the postman) would arrive to collect their orders. Yes, you have read that correctly, he's a precise goat is Paul. 

Items were then handed over to be delivered.

Phoebe likes this part of the day because the shop feels a lot more organised. 

And she took a mental note about the postman's minor complaint about some comfy afterwork clothes. He seemed mildly irked at the prospect of wearing the same style of shirts all of the time. 

What is special for Paul and Phoebe is when their customers come to show their creations being loved and worn. Just this week there has been quite a few smiley faces show how happy they are with their new items. 

Beth, who you might remember lives on Evergreen Farm in the windmill, loves her new dungarees. With the thick denim used they are next to impossible for her to ruin. 

Jack Blackberry is very happy with his safari style outfit. He too lives on Evergreen Farm in one of the smaller cottages. On the weekends he and his father enjoy long walks in the countryside so a breathable outfit was needed for their adventures. 

An interesting request was made by Ben Waters he wanted to make sure, several months early, that his halloween outfit would be ready. He was very pleased with the scales and was sure he would frighten his friends on Halloween. 

Lucille wanted something to keep her warm on her walks to school in the autumn term. Phoebe knew exactly what she needed and Lucille is very pleased with her new shawl. 

Ambrose was in need of a new jacket for nursery. He's quite a fan of the mud kitchen so Yardley was explicit that it has to be wipeable and waterproof to withstand her son's mud pie making. 

Holly requested a set of strawberry outfits for her summer dancing show. It's always a delight for the families to watch their youngest members dance to their favourite nursery rhymes. I think Gilly looks the part as a strawberry!

And lastly, Paul the Postman was gifted a very comfortable outfit for after work. He was very surprised by their generosity and is pleased to have something fresh to wear after cycling around the village all morning! 

I hope you enjoyed this little post about the haberdashery. It's a lovely little building and I'm grateful that I was gifted so many items to make it come to life.
