Dear reader,
I hope this post finds you well. I have decided to try and post a bit more often as it’s lovely looking back and seeing my village throughout time. I am sure that you feel the same about my posts. To do this I need to find new avenues, not just stories or the ends of big projects. This is because it just isn’t feasible to take that many photos or finish projects that quickly.
I have also been inspired by this very endearing and funny blog about the beaver family:
My first idea was to update you on my collection that is currently on display. I have expanded my display to a shelf that was already up in my room. I have also added more detail to my scenes on my bookshelf, I added fabric for a blue sky and more foliage. Overall, I am really happy with how this looks.
The only place that does not have blue sky for a background are my shelves because they are part of my wall and I don’t want to damage the paint.
Now to my collection…
On my longer shelf I have a long town scene set up. This includes my pizza place and my new haberdashery. Here you can see the Dearly family meeting customers and working on their commissioned pieces.
Phoebe is welcoming in Amora Flotteur who was thinking she might need some more thread. Her daughter Coral is with her.
Next door is a small patio area that is owned by the pizza place. Here families can enjoy their food while watching the busy street.
The Sandy cat family are here today. They are enjoying a fish pizza, they are particularly fond of tuna fish. Baby Scott just wants to eat the cheese off the top though.
It is a rather tranquil place to sit.
Next door there is rather a lot of activity at the pizza parlour. Bob and Betty live near Evergreen farm. Bob works hard as part of the farming team to grow and deliver fresh produce to the village. His preference is delivering the goods as that way he gets to see all of the village and catch up with his friends.
Today he is delivering peppers with his wife. Betty joins him when she has errands to run too.
The triplets are out for a stroll with their mother Penny. You might remember that their father Toby has recently started work at the clinic in town.
John has just boxed up a fresh pizza for Maurice Flotteur. It seems that his wife is unaware that pizza was the real reason they came into town.
Kenneth runs the admin and front of house. He keeps the orders coming in and organises the whole business. John likes it that way, he just likes to make the pizza.
Now to my bookshelf dioramas.
A short while ago I was gifted the husky family and then completed the rest of the family with two other sets. I love their little faces and their wintery outfits.
Pauline is looking after Jeremy and Amber today. They are enjoying playing in a quiet garden area near the town centre.
Near that green space is a familiar house…
The Waddles!
It seems they are hosting the Alpine family again.
Ozzie is making coffee for him and Gerald.
Sapphire has returned home and is glad that the house is still standing.
I think Gerald is hoping to start the barbecue outside.
Upstairs, chaos is raining.
Toys are everywhere!
Pearl was just starting her nap as well.
On to the next diorama..
On this shelf the Wensley family are out for a stroll.
Ian is guiding his daughter, Emma, away from begging for a cookie from the bakery.
The newest editions to the Bramble family are Freddie and Florence. They love eating raw dough and playing in the flour on the bakery floor.
Ruth said that she cannot get their prickles under control at all.
Onto the next diorama…
In the Blackcurrant cafe Wilbur is busy preparing orders.
It is busy as always.
Theodore and Georgina Maple are enjoying two lattes and some cake.
Lloyd has come into the cafe for his daily coffee with his children. Not exactly a relaxing outing for him.
Emily and Elio think this was a great day out though, they get to play with lots of babies!
Holly is deciding what to get with her coffee. Gilly thinks they should get the blackcurrant cheesecake but that is not an easy thing to eat in the park.
My first family, the Beaman cats, are here too. Alister is trying to get some of his mother’s food while also getting a cuddle.
My next diorama is Rosebud cottage.
Winnie, Millie and Isla are out for a stroll.
Paul is out on his rounds, always getting the parcels delivered as quickly as possible.
Inside Rosebud cottage is Nancy Waters. Nancy is very proud of having a spotless home with lots of delicate details.
Her husband, Aubrey, picks her flowers on his way home from work.
Downstairs is the children’s room. Ben is trying to read in his bed while his sister is entertaining her friend.
Madeline has her friend Burl round for the afternoon. I think they might struggle trying to see stars at night.
Aubrey is getting ready for his afternoon of work. Today he has some handy work to do round some of friend’s homes.
I think he looks very sweet!
And here is my clinic! I have created a scene so that I can see it every day.
Bridget has come to collect some medicine as her daughter Annabelle is not feeling very well.
Little Beth loves going for a stroll with her mother.
Today Avril has brought her triplets in for a check up.
Vincent is here as well, it takes more than one adult to get triplets up and out of the house.
Hayden is catching up with his friend Mark. Mark said he would come to his parent’s haberdashery shop but I think he’d rather be causing mischief with Hayden.
Avril seems calm though, they managed to get to the appointment in time.
Nelly, Rae and Petal love going for rides in their sled.
And Andrew is always pleased to see his smallest patients, he loves to cuddle the babies.
Inside Fred is in the clinic with his daughter for a routine check up of her height, weight and wellbeing.
Emma has come to the clinic to see if Ray can have a check up as well, he seems a bit cranky at the moment.
My last diorama is a smaller set up of my farmer’s market. It’s very similar to my post from earlier in the year.
Elsie is selling ice cream.
I hope you have enjoyed this post. It’s not as long as my other ones but this way I can post more frequently.
Have a lovely day!!
Helly
