An Autumnal Walk…

 Dear Readers,

I hope this post finds you well, warm and cosy in this autumnal weather. I love this time of year and I wanted to share what my sylvanians are up to in this colder weather. I know I have been away for some time but do not fear that is because I do not care for my sylvanians. Quite the contrary in fact, I am working on them every week. I recently bought a bundle of some different buildings and I am part way through some projects. But then, there are some that I have not shown you as other projects have been bigger. I bought the Tomy edition ‘Woodland Lodge’, the Tomy bakery and then two of the small Tomy shops. One of which will be a post office and the other will be a tailors shop. These are all going on in the background but are not quite ready yet.

Anyway, without further talking I bring to you a cold and blustery morning in Evergreen Hollow:

Paul Brightfield is out on his rounds this morning. He is the village postman and his daughter, Valentine, loves to join him before she goes to nursery. Her mother made her a matching outfit to him so she really looks the part and well. On these cold mornings Paul gets his favourite scarf which his mother made him when he first become a postman. Now he runs the village post office. While this gives him the managerial role he still wants to get out on his bike and deliver the letters and packages. He could easily have handed this over and hired another postman but for now he will do it himself. He much prefers the help of his wife  doing the admin work at the post office. Little Valentine loves the morning rides with her dad and enjoys handing over the letters that are in her own personal satchel at her side.

Today the pair are delivering just outside the village to Rosebud Cottage. This is where the water’s beavers live just by Evergreen stream.

Aubrey has answered the door. He is the village carpenter and sent off for some new tools for his next job. Things take a while to get into Evergreen Hollow. It’s quite remote and far off from the other sylvanian villages. He doesn’t mind though, he knows Paul will get it to him soon enough. Paul quickly hops of his bike and knocks on the door. Seeing Aubrey so happy makes his day even brighter. Little Valentine is looking a bit unhappy that she can’t deliver the parcel. The tools in there are quite heavy and he didn’t want to risk Valentine dropping them in front of Aubrey after the wait he has had for them.

After Paul and Valentine left for the rest of their rounds the other villages are passing by. Some of the villagers live on the outside of the village, preferring a little walk to the centre.

This morning Emma is walking with her daughter Fay. You might remember they live in Evergreen Bungalow. Emma’s husband works in town she might be going to get him some items for work. Emma likes helping her husband out with his new business so she often heads into the village to see where she can help. Little Fay is not so keen on the colder weather but her little wrap is keeping her toasty.

She is very warm!

The following people to pass the cottage are the Golightly family. They live in Cedar Terrace Row which is in the village centre but have come out of the village for a walk and to get some fresh bread from the bakery. Holly is the village dance teacher, as well as her husband, and teaches dance to the younger children. Little Ginny is a very good ballet dancer. Her older brother Toby is also good at ballet!

Ginny’s mother made her a new hat which matches her outfit, she looks ever so warm.

Not far from Rosebud Cottage is a recent new addition to the eateries at Evergreen Hollow. John Baker and his friend Kenneth Furbanks recently opened a pizza place not from from the village centre. It’s a very calm place to eat and relax.

They are both very proud of their new pizza place.

John is in charge of the pizza oven. He is very skilled at making sure the pizzas don’t stick!

Kenneth is in charge of the phone and preparing the pizzas to be taken away. They have a small window for takeaway to be collected when it’s busy but today that is not the case.
For lunch today the Buckley deer family are getting some pizza. They recently moved here so that Rupert can teach PE. Freddie is very excited to get his lunch. He has been helping his dad prepare the garden for winter and is now ravenous.
John is always quick with getting the pizza into the box and then to the customer. He likes the quieter days as he can chat with the villagers. He likes getting to know the new faces and he seems quite fond of Rupert. I can’t blame him though, Rupert is a very kind deer.
Heading now towards the centre of the village is the Blackcurrant Cafe. This was opened some years ago now by Wilbur Robinson and his best friend James Fenton. The two are a great team and always run the cafe so smoothly. Today the cafe is quite busy with lots of customers enjoying the warm cafe and hot drinks.
Valerie and Kaleb Breeze are in the cafe enjoying some time with their granddaughter Clarice.
Martha Marlowe has just left the cafe with her baby son, Stanley. She is wearing a lovely snug shawl in this cold and dark weather.
Teri Baker is out for a stroll with her twins Kaleb and Breeze, named after her parents. She has just dropped off her daughter with them. She is also feeling the cold and is wearing a scarf.
Inside the cafe it is very busy. Wilbur is taking order while James is making pancakes. The rest of the deer family are inside getting some takeaway drinks to have with their pizza. Agatha loves the cafe and its many choices of fresh produce.

Maeve and her brother Henry are out for the morning with their mother Amelia. The sheep family recently moved here from northern Sylvania are settling down into the village very well. This time of year is busy for them as they are orchard farmers but that seems to be her husband’s job today, she has some time to meet with her good friend Miriam.

Little Henry loves the cafe, especially the big soft rug which is perfect for his knees while crawling.

Little Clarice is the apple to her Grandad’s eye. She can do no wrong to him which is why she loves outings to the cafe. She is guaranteed a hot chocolate with whipped cream.
Maria has spied some fresh buns that are in the display cabinet. She is unsure whether she can talk her mother into buying her some.

Amelia has treater herself to some pancakes and fresh berries. They were delivered from their orchard fresh this morning.

The sweet couple are talking about their plans with Clarice. It seems they have a busy day of crafting at home as the weather is too cold for the park. ‘Perhaps baking some cake?’ Suggests Kaleb. ‘Kaleb you are always one for worrying about your next slice of cake. But you know I am the exact same about any baked good!’ Replies Valerie.
It seems the colder weather suits some of the villages and their hobbies.

I hoped you enjoyed this little journey through my village. This time of year taking photographs is quite hard but as the theme is autumn the darker images only reflect reality I suppose.
All the best,

Helly x
